Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy, LLC (SIRE) is a state-of-the-art, dry mill grain processing facility able to produce 130 million gallons of fuel grade ethanol per year. The plant annually produces over 340,000 tons of dried distilled grains. We also produce:
- Wet Distillers Grains with Solubles (WDS)
- Corn oil, for feed and biodiesel
- CO2, sold for carbonation and dry ice markets (Air Products is co-located for processing the CO2)
- 190 proof alcohol for further refinement in beverage and industrial uses
The plant will consume over 48 million bushels of corn feedstock annually.
SIRE has committed to reducing the Carbon Index (CI) of our ethanol by 70% as compared to gasoline by 2030 and reach net zero CI by 2050. In order to achieve these goals, we continue to explore opportunities to decrease our energy use and look forward to partnering with Farmers in deploying regenerative agriculture practices.
